OPENING RESPONSE

Open our lips, Lord God

And our mouths

will proclaim Your praise!

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Blessed are You, Sovereign God,

Creator of all, to You be

praise and glory forever.

You founded the earth

in the beginning and the heavens

are the work of Your hands.

In the fullness of time,

You made us in Your image;

and in these last days,

You have spoken to us

in Your son Jesus Christ,

the Word made flesh.

As we rejoice in the gift

of Your presence among us,

let the light of Your love

always shine in our hearts,

Your Spirit ever renew our lives,

and Your praise be ever on our lips.

Blessed be God:

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Blessed be the Lord God forever!

MORNING SONG

We sing the mighty power of God

that made the mountains rise,

that spread the flowing seas abroad

and built the lofty skies.

We sing the wisdom that ordained

the sun to rule the day;

the moon shines full at His command,

and all the stars obey.

We sing the goodness of the Lord

that filled the earth with food;

He formed the creatures with His Word and then, pronounced them good.

Lord, how Your wonders are displayed, where’er we turn our eyes;

if we survey the ground we tread

or gaze upon the skies.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

I believe in God the Father, Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ,

His only Son, our Lord,

who was: conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

He descended to the dead.

On the third day, He rose again;

He ascended to heaven,

is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and will come again

to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting.  Amen!

Collect for Today

O God, the Protector of

all who trust in You,

without whom nothing is strong,

nothing is holy: increase

and multiply upon us Your mercy;

that with You as our Ruler and Guide,

we may so pass through things

temporal that we lose not our hold

on things eternal; grant this, heavenly Father, for our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake,

who is alive and reigns with You,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and forever,

teaching us to pray, saying:

Our Father in heaven,

Holy is Your name,

Your Kingdom come;

Your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread,

and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us away from the time of trial

and deliver us from evil,

for the Kingdom, the power,

and the glory are Yours,

now and forever.  Amen!

MORNING HYMN

There’s not a plant or flower below

but makes Your glories known,

and clouds arise and tempests blow

by order from Your throne;

while all that borrows life from You

is ever in Your care,

and everywhere that we can be

You, God, are present there.

BENEDICTION

The Lord bless us,

and preserve us from all evil,

and keep us in the way

that leads to eternal life.

Amen!
