PSALMS FOR MEDITATING
OPENING RESPONSE
Lord, Open our lips and our mouths
will proclaim Your praise!
Blessed are You, Sovereign God, Creator of all,
to You be praise and glory forever. You founded
the earth in the beginning and the heavens
are the work of Your hands. In the fullness of time,
You made us in Your image, and in these last days,
You have spoken to us in Your Son, Jesus Christ,
the Word made flesh. As we rejoice in the gift
of Your presence among us, let the light of Your
love always shine in our hearts, Your Spirit
ever renew our lives and Your praises
be ever on our lips.
Blessed be God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit –
Blessed be the Lord forever.
MORNING PSALM
Glory be to You, Almighty God
– Father, Son, and Holy Spirit –
as it was, and is, and is to come,
one God both now and forever. Amen!
THE WORD OF THE LORD
F Num 20:1–13; Ps 102; Mt 20:29–34;
S Num 20:14–29; Ps 107:33ff & 108; Mt 21:1–11;
THE AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day, He rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand of the Father and
will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen!
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
The Collect of the Day
Friday – A Collect for Endurance
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first He suffered pain and entered not into glory before He was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord. Amen!
Saturday – A Collect for Sabbath Rest
Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all Your works and sanctified a day of rest for all Your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of Your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to Your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us away from the time of trial and deliver us from evil, for the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours, now and forever. Amen!
THE MORNING HYMN
Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me.

Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me.
THE BENEDICTION
May the Lord bless us, preserve us from all evil,
and keep us in the way that leads to eternal life.
